In May 2019, Vitoria-Gasteiz will become the continental capital of basketball. For the first time in the history of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, the Buesa Arena will host the Final Four competition.
With a capacity of more than 15,000 spectators, the basketball venue will be the scene of the grand final of the continental tournament, succeeding great European capitals such as Belgrade, Istanbul, Berlin and Madrid.
Vitoria-Gasteiz is the European city of basketball 2019, you will feel it as soon as you arrive, its streets breathe basketball. It is also a friendly and comfortable city and it is designed to live in, everything is close, including the so-called Anillo Verde (Green Ring), perimeter of the city formed by six large parks that you can walk or bike around. This Green Ring celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. For all this, Vitoria-Gasteiz is the green lung of Euskadi, being the territory with the largest number of kilometers in protected areas of the Basque Country.
Vitoria-Gasteiz has obtained the international certification ‘Biosphere Responsable Tourism’ as a sustainable tourist destination.
Another of the treasures that Vitoria-Gasteiz offers you is the Almendra Medieval (Medieval Almond), so called due to its oval contour, it is one of the most symbolic and historic quarters of the Basque Country.
